Black Canada Talking™ is a live online event that provides Black Canadians opportunity to give their takes and POVs on stories that are of importance to them.
On today’s edition of Black Canada Talking™, the guest is Nicole Waldron.
A professional event planner, Inspirational Speaker, Podcaster, Activist, Producer and Event Planning Specialist, the multi-faceted Nicole Waldron works tirelessly for the advancement, progress, and prosperity of her community.
Nicole has enjoyed a 28+ year career spanning fields as varied as project management, arts administration, public relations, governance and social advocacy. She has served as a consultant to many festivals and special events in the United States, Trinidad and Tobago and many regions of Canada.
In 2020, Nicole launched The Victory “Speaks” Podcast, providing listeners with the tools to be Mentally Fit. In addition, she launched the Victory Speaks Online Show, where she hosts Inspired Conversation Series with individuals who inspire us to Live a Victorious Lifestyle.
Always ready to devote her time to community causes, the community advocate has been passionate on issues related to Violence against Women, Mental Health and issues affecting the Black Community. Nicole serves on the board of Atahualpa Cooperative Homes, Sisters4Hope & Stella’s Place. She sits as an advisor on committees for The Ontario Family Caregivers Advisory Network (OFCAN); the Reach Out Response Network, a Toronto mental health service, 100 ABC Women, The Co-operators (Ontario Region Delegate) and various committees for the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). She is a past board member the board The Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada (CHF Canada) and its Ontario Council (Past Board President); the Co-operative Housing Federation of Toronto and Dr. Roz’s Healing Place.
Over her expansive service career, her accolades and awards are too numerous to exhaust here, some of which include Nicole was named one of the 100 Black Accomplished Canadian Women and highlighted as one of 150 Women in Canada by How She Hustles “HERstory in Black” series. She is the recipient of the 2020 Brian Burch Community Service Award from the Co-operative Housing Federation of Toronto, the Outstanding Community Service Award from Dance Caribe and the Social Housing Service Corporation Kathleen Blinkhorn Award for Excellence in Volunteerism.
