Recently, Mr. Barton was live on our show talking about Michael B. Jordan Delroy Lindo Face Racial Slur at BAFTAs – Full Breakdown.
The main focus is a full breakdown of an incident where actors Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo were allegedly subjected to a racial slur at the 2026 BAFTAs in London.
Key highlights from the discussion:
Institutional Failure: Mr. Barton criticizes BAFTA and the BBC for their handling of the situation, specifically mentioning the piss-poor apology from a presenter and the lack of editing compared to other moments.
Pattern of Racism: The discussion highlights that this is not an isolated incident but part of a larger pattern of racial bias in international entertainment spaces.
Processing Public Humiliation: Mr. Barton discusses the pressures on black masculinity to remain calm and composed in the face of public disrespect, noting that Jordan and Lindo were in a no-win situation regarding their reaction.
Future Actions: Mr. Barton advises that black artists should stop seeking validation from institutions like BAFTA and instead build separate, self-respecting spaces.
