Welcome to BLKMEN CAN TALK, a show where Black Canadian men come together to have real, unfiltered conversations about life, culture, and community.

Your hosts are Paul Osbourne, Kofi Morris and Dr. Vibe™.

Reports of Black boys going missing have gone viral on social media. So have theories about what is happening to them. Recently, the CBC’s Fifth Estate program broadcast a documentary titled Missing Black Boys in which they investigated who or what is luring these boys to remote communities.

On a recent episode of BLKMEN CAN TALK, Paul Osbourne, Kofi Morris and Dr. Vibe™ will be talking about the CBC’s First Estate’s Missing Black Boys documentary and missing Black boys.

Jonathan Shaw joined the conversation.

During the conversation, the panel respond to the CBC Fifth Estate documentary, Missing Black Boys. They explore the disturbing trend of Black boys going missing in the Greater Toronto Area and being transported to remote communities for trafficking and drug-related activities.

Key Discussion Points:

Emotional Impact: The panel shares their visceral reactions to the documentary, emphasizing the need for Black men to be proactive in protective roles

The Case of Thunder Bay: Jonathan highlights the vulnerability of Black youth in remote areas like Thunder Bay, where they stand out, yet disappear without adequate reporting.

The Role of Men and Community: The panelists express frustration at the lack of male involvement and call for a collective community response to support parents and prevent these tragedies, rather than relying solely on external entities.

Proactive Parenting: A strong call to action is made for parents to be highly involved in their children’s lives, including visiting schools unexpectedly to ensure their safety and accountability.
