The Black Physicians’ Association of Ontario (BPAO) will be holding its 16th Annual Symposium on Saturday, February 22, 2025 in Toronto, Ontario.
Live today at 8 p.m. Eastern/5 p.m. Pacific, Chenai Kadungure, Executive Director, the Black Physicians’ Association of Ontario (BPAO) and Dr. Mireille Norris, Geriatrician at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre will be live on our show talking about the Black Physicians’ Association of Ontario (BPAO) 16th Annual Symposium.
The Black Physicians’ Association of Ontario (BPAO) plays a vital role in addressing health disparities affecting Black Ontarians. Its Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events are designed to equip all healthcare professionals with the knowledge needed to meet the unique health needs of Black communities, while also highlighting the systemic barriers that prevent equitable healthcare access.
For over 16 years, the BPAO has hosted its annual symposium, uniting Black physicians, medical learners, and allied health professionals from across Ontario. The 2025 symposium will continue this tradition by offering cutting-edge sessions that address the most pressing health concerns for Black Ontarians.
Date: Saturday, February 22, 2025
Time: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Location: Myhal Centre for Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship Building, University of Toronto’s downtown campus (55 St George St, Toronto)
Format: Hybrid – in-person or virtual
This year’s symposium will feature over five expert-led sessions, including:
– Updates in the Management of Sickle Cell Anemia
– Dementia and Fall Prevention in Geriatric Populations
– Lipoprotein A and its Roles in Cardiovascular Disease Risk Stratification
… and breakout rooms with tailored discussions for physicians, medical learners, and allied health professionals.
