Black America Since MLK: And Still I Rise, a PBS documentary, explores the last fifty years or so of African American history and the black experience. The ups and the downs. The documentary is hosted by famed Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. Black America Since MLK: And Still I Rise is broken up into two parts and runs approximately four hours long. Part one of Black America Since MLK: And Still I Rise premiered on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 and is now available to stream online. The documentary takes us from the civil rights movement to the present. As many of us know all too well, many of the problems that existed decades ago still haunt us today. The struggle against economic inequality, racism, and police brutality continues. The Emmy and Peabody-award winning Gates interviews a range of folks from celebrities to scholars. The documentary series is produced by Inkwell Films, Kunhardt Films, McGee Media and WETA. Head here to cop the documentary on DVD.
