Phillip Scott is the Founder and Chief Executive Media Architect of the African Diaspora News Channel, one of the most influential Black-owned media platforms on the internet. With over 19.7 million monthly network views and 2.96 million total subscribers across six platforms, including the African Diaspora News Channel, AfroWire AI, The Phillip Scott Show, The Phillip Scott Podcast, Emancipation Media, and Soraya The Songstress, Scott has built a fully integrated, AI-powered media ecosystem that reaches a global audience of adults across the United States and the diaspora. His work has been featured on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Roku, Amazon Music, and Spotify.
Beyond the screen, Scott is a published author of Passive Aggressive Racism In The System of White Supremacy and 7 Steps To Decolonize The Mind, and the filmmaker behind the 2018 documentary Unjust Perceptions: Ethiopia. He has led cultural excursions across Kenya, Ethiopia, South Africa, and beyond, bringing over 200 people including Black Americans, Europeans, Caribbeans, entrepreneurs, blue collar workers, medical professionals, and entire families to the African continent for the first time. In every country he has visited, Scott has been interviewed by major local and national news networks, cementing his standing as a global voice for the diaspora.
His media network generates employment for 25 or more people monthly across five or more countries, driving real economic empowerment within Black communities worldwide. A present and active father and husband, Phillip Scott proves that building a global movement and leading a grounded family life are not competing ambitions but complementary ones. He is not simply telling stories. He is building a Black-led media movement rooted in truth, unity, and liberation, one that is built to last for generations.
Recently, Mr. Scott was live on our show talking about the State Of Black Media.
During our conversation, Mr. Scott talked about:
– The need for independent infrastructure like apps, websites, and newsletters to ensure true narrative control
– Ownership and Resilience: The central theme is moving from just being creators on big tech platforms to being media owners to avoid demonetization and censorship
– The Role of AI: Mr. Scott highlights the use of AI-powered avatars (like ‘Lerica’) and tools to create professional, professional-looking content efficiently and reduce production costs
– Global Perspective: Managing a global Black newsroom requires understanding different cultures and aligning on core principles across the US, Africa, and the Caribbean
– Advising new creators to focus on storytelling while being tech-savvy to maximize revenue, and urges the community to support Black-owned media directly
Mr. Scott will also be at the ADNC Narrative Power Summit at the Acqua Supper Club in Toronto, Ontario on Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
ADNC Narrative Power Summit is a one-day, high-impact gathering built to do one thing unapologetically: shift narrative power back into the hands of our communities.
Headlining the Summit is Phillip Scott, Founder & CEO of African Diaspora News Channel (ADNC), a pioneering force in independent Black media and a leading advocate for media literacy, narrative sovereignty, and community accountability.
Under Phillip Scott’s leadership, ADNC has become essential media infrastructure, delivering coverage that challenges distorted narratives and centers truth, context, and community power. His presence anchors the Summit’s core message: Black media isn’t optional, it’s essential.
This landmark marquee event brings together Black media professionals, journalists, artists, activists, policy thinkers, and grassroots organizers from across the African Diaspora who understand one core reality: whoever controls the narrative controls the outcome, politically, economically, and culturally.
Attendees will hear from international keynote speakers from the United States, alongside Toronto-based journalists, cultural leaders, and policy influencers who are actively shaping public discourse. Through dynamic panels, unfiltered conversations, and practical, real-world insights, participants will gain tools to challenge harmful narratives, counter misinformation, and amplify voices that have historically been sidelined.
Beyond the conversations, the Summit is also a full experience. Guests will walk the Black Carpet Media Wall, capture professional photos, enjoy a delicious dinner and curated drinks, live music performance featuring Juno award winning artists, Carlos Morgan and his band, and special guest performances. Guests will also connect directly with the powerhouse ADNC team behind one of the most influential Black-owned media platforms today.
It’s equal parts strategy, celebration, and community, because narrative power should feel as good as it is impactful.
At its core, the ADNC Narrative Power Summit is about building narrative muscle, teaching communities how to consume media critically, produce content strategically, and leverage storytelling as a vehicle for accountability, advocacy, and economic empowerment. This is action. It’s ownership.
