Black Canada Talking™ is a live online event that provides Black Canadians opportunity to give their takes and POVs on stories that are of importance to them.

On a recent episode Black Canada Talking™ was Cesar Ndema-Moussa.

During our conversation, Cesar talked about:

What Is the Price of Being the Only Black in White or Non-White Spaces?

Cesar analyzes the risks and challenges of navigating spaces where one is the sole Black individual. Dr. Vibe™ and Cesar reference the mysterious death of Nolan Xavier Wells to discuss the importance of personal vetting, self-protection, and the necessity of being aware of one’s environment. Cesar emphasizes that parents should instill Black pride and consciousness in their children from a young age so they can navigate these spaces without feeling a need for external validation or suffering from an inferiority complex.

The discussion touches on the importance of surrounding oneself with genuine allies and the necessity of having “hard conversations” about race, history, and systemic inequality early in any relationship to gauge true character.

Racism at the World Cup — Argentina, Mbappe, Paraguay

The segment focuses on the FIFA World Cup, specifically controversies surrounding the Argentinian team and accusations of bias in refereeing. Cesar highlights the racist comments directed at players like Kylian Mbappé by public figures (such as the senator from Paraguay) and the broader global issue of anti-Black racism in sports, despite the increasing diversity and prominence of Black and brown players in the game today.
